1. Summary
Nudge (“the app”) is a free reminder and notification app that helps you stay on top of your tasks. It is published by Cool App Helpdesk.
- The developer collects no personal data. There are no user accounts and no developer-operated analytics or tracking systems.
- The app includes an optional in-app feedback feature that sends your message to a developer-operated endpoint — see section 5.
- Your reminders, categories, and settings stay on your device and are never sent anywhere unless you explicitly submit feedback.
2. Data we collect
None. Nudge does not automatically collect personal data, telemetry, identifiers, device information, IP addresses, or usage analytics. There are no user accounts and the developer operates no analytics or ad-serving infrastructure that the app communicates with automatically.
If you choose to submit feedback via the in-app feedback form, the message, subject, feedback type, and optional contact information you provide are sent to a developer-operated endpoint. This data is used solely to respond to your feedback and improve the app. See section 5 for details.
3. Data stored on your device
| Item | Where | Sent off device? |
|---|---|---|
| Reminders, categories, history | Local Room database (NudgeDatabase) | Never |
| App settings (theme, default reminder settings, etc.) | App-private DataStore preferences | Never |
| Feedback messages (when submitted) | Sent to developer endpoint — not stored locally beyond the submission flow | Only on submission |
4. Permissions used
Nudge requires certain permissions to deliver timely reminders and notifications:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Display reminder notifications (Android 13+) |
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM | Schedule reminders at the exact time you set |
USE_EXACT_ALARM | Fire reminders at the exact time you set |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | Re-schedule alarms after device reboot |
WAKE_LOCK | Wake the device when a reminder fires |
VIBRATE | Vibrate on reminder notifications |
FOREGROUND_SERVICE | Maintain alarm schedule in the background |
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS | Request exemption from battery optimisation so reminders fire reliably |
INTERNET | Submit in-app feedback to the developer endpoint |
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Check network availability before submitting feedback |
The app does not request location, contacts, storage, microphone, camera, phone state, or any other sensitive permission beyond those listed above.
5. Network activity and third parties
Nudge communicates with one developer-operated endpoint solely for the optional in-app feedback feature:
- Endpoint:
https://requests-847893873240.europe-west1.run.app(Google Cloud Run) - Purpose: Receive feedback messages (feature requests, bug reports, general inquiries)
- Data sent: Feedback type, subject, message body, and optional contact information — only when you explicitly tap Submit
There are no third-party SDKs in the app. No advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, social, or attribution SDKs are included. The app does not serve ads, collect telemetry, or transmit any data automatically.
6. Children’s privacy
Nudge is not specifically directed at children, but the developer collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR’s provisions for children (GDPR-K). There is no profile, no account, no chat, and no in-app purchases.
Parents who have questions about their child’s privacy can contact us at coolapphelpdesk@gmail.com.
7. Data retention and deletion
Because the developer does not automatically collect any data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side. Feedback messages you submit are stored in the developer-operated endpoint and are retained only as long as needed to respond and address the feedback. To request deletion of your feedback data, contact us at coolapphelpdesk@gmail.com.
To remove locally stored data (reminders, categories, history, settings), clear the app’s storage in Android Settings → Apps → Nudge → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
8. Security
The app stores reminder data and preferences locally in the app’s private storage, protected by Android’s built-in application sandboxing. Network requests for feedback submission are made over HTTPS. The app is distributed through the Google Play Store, which verifies the developer signing key on every update.
9. Changes to this policy
If any material aspect of how the app handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will be bumped. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
