1. Summary
PickIt! (“the app”) is a decision-making utility published by Cool App Helpdesk. It offers dice (including dice you design yourself), coin flips, decision wheels, a magic 8-ball, random numbers, a challenge timer, and a finger picker.
- There is no account or sign-in, and we (the developer) never receive any data about you.
- Everything you create or set in the app stays on your device.
- The app contains the Google AdMob advertising SDK. It is inactive until September 1, 2027: before that date it is never started, shows no ads and sends nothing. From that date the app shows ads, and Google processes some device data to serve them, as described in section 5.
- All ads are requested as child-directed and family-safe: no personalised advertising, and the advertising ID is not used.
2. Data we collect
None. The developer has no server and receives no personal data, usage data or analytics from the app. Data processed by Google for advertising (from September 1, 2027) is covered in section 5.
3. Data stored on your device
Your preferences and creations are stored only on your device using Android’s local storage, and are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
| Item | Where | Sent off device? |
|---|---|---|
| Language, theme, sound/vibration toggles, selected coin, recent results, flip statistics | Android local storage | Never |
| Things you create: custom dice and their faces, saved wheels, your own 8-ball answers, custom coin faces, saved timers, game rules | Android local storage | Never |
4. Permissions used
| Permission | Reason | When asked |
|---|---|---|
VIBRATE | Haptic feedback (dice thuds, wheel ticks, timer alarm) | Auto-granted (normal permission) |
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to load ads from September 1, 2027. The app itself makes no network requests. | Auto-granted (normal permissions) |
The app does not use the advertising ID (the AD_ID permission is removed). The accelerometer is read only while the app is open, to detect shake-to-roll gestures; motion data is processed in memory and never stored or transmitted.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Before September 1, 2027: the ad SDK is bundled but never initialised. No consent request, ad request or any other connection to Google is made, and no ads are shown.
From September 1, 2027: the app shows a banner at the bottom of some game screens and one ad card on the home screen, served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure those ads and to prevent fraud, Google may process:
- your device’s IP address (from which a coarse, approximate location may be derived);
- device and app information (device model, operating system, language, app version);
- ad interactions (ads shown and tapped) and diagnostics.
Every ad request is tagged as child-directed (COPPA) and under the age of consent, and limited to content rated G (general audiences). Google therefore serves only non-personalised, family-safe ads and does not build an advertising profile from this app.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your choice through Google’s consent form before any ad is requested, and a Privacy choices entry in Settings lets you change it at any time. If you decline, no ads are requested.
Google acts as an independent controller for this processing. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.
The dice and coin tools are game utilities; no gambling or wagering of any kind is possible.
6. Children’s privacy
PickIt! is suitable for general audiences and may be used by children. The developer collects no personal information from anyone. The ads that appear from September 1, 2027 are requested as child-directed and family-safe for every user, without the advertising ID and without personalisation, in line with COPPA and Google Play’s Families policy. The app has no purchases and no sign-in.
7. Data retention and deletion
The developer stores no data off your device. Your preferences and creations remain on your device until you clear the app’s storage in Android Settings → Apps → PickIt! → Storage → Clear storage or uninstall the app. Data processed by Google for advertising is retained under Google’s policies linked above.
8. Security
App data is held in the app’s private storage, protected by Android’s built-in application sandboxing. Connections made by the ad SDK use encryption (HTTPS). The app is distributed through the Google Play Store, which verifies the developer signing key on every update.
9. Changes to this policy
If any material aspect of how the app handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will be bumped. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
